After class the time is yours if you have duty its 1630 to 2030 or 2030 until 01230. Pt is 0520 until 0620. From 0630 until 0800 you have to do personal hygiene and clean barracks sweep or mop nothing that takes more than 15 minutes tops. Class starts at 0830. It's not prison and you have plenty of free time. However the course has a lot of information so if your a 25B not working directly with servers you have to pay attention. If you are familiar with train to test not for knowledge you will be just fine. This is NOT a college course it is a crash
course. No worries you will be just fine.

I am in ALC as we speak. Hours are 0830 until 1600. You attend class and that's it. Some additional duties however nothing too strenuous. ALC is 8 weeks only. Your ATTRS may or may not show it, however when you get here they will give you the NEW graduation date so you can get in touch with your unit. You cannot access DTS unless you have a account, not everyone receives one usually training room personnel.

I'm sure the course has changed, but I know someone going next month and can give you an update. As far as routine, we got up early to do PT, followed by personal hygene and barracks maintenance, then you made sure you arrived to class on time. Class times varied with subject. You could be in class from 0900- 1630 plus or minus an hour on either end. As far as free time, you probably want to spend your time studying until the weekend.

I'm scheduled for later this year (2012) and if it's anything like 25B AIT I'm going to be sorely disappointed. What details can you give to the daily routines, training, outside of the classroom training. How close are the days compared to say, WLC? I ask because some people I've discussed WLC with all had different experiences. Some were locked down the entire time like BCT, some, like mine were not even though I was in a resident WLC, our days were done early and those that lived on post were allowed to go home at the end of the day.

The course was going through some changes while I was there. As far as I know, you will go through basic cisco routing, a couple weeks of servers, a Security Plus overview, you have a capstone type field exercise. Is there something else you want to know?

As a long time AAFES employee i can tell you they are ripping you off more then you think. The only thing they seem to be thinking about in Dallas is the bonus they will get when the profits are over (about) 350 Million dollars, and this from a NON Profi company. Yes AAFES makes their rules as they go and dont care about their costomers or their employees (why when someone makes problems they cant use the exchange (Lose their exchange priv.) or if your an employee they always find a reason to get rid you. (Fired). They even promoted a DCM (Distrubition Center Manager) and he is now at Dan Daniels distribition center after he was suspended for 30 days (could not enter the post) a normal worker would have been fired. He must have friends in high places….Its not what you konw its who you blow. AAFES is not a part of the Goverment or military and on the other hand are not a private company so they are getting away with almost everything, What they dont get away with ….
oh well was nice knowing you..could give more details but everyone needs a job. When i was in the Army we went shopping OFF post as it was a lot cheaper thern by AAFES

I agree with your costume assessment. So many of them are skanky. And the skanky ones are getting younger and younger. Talk about scary.

I hope you found something that worked for you. That made you feel comfortable.

Thanks for stopping by on my SITS day. It was a fun day for me.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
